A Child’s Bedtime Prayer – Safe for Adults Too
Now I lay me down to sleep.
Sleep – that’s a long shot these nights I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
Keep and protect my spirit and very being – especially when
I’m so restless. I could use a hug.
If I should die before I wake,
Some days I think of the peace and happiness of your heaven – it seems pretty attractive compared with chaos of my earth.
But I suspect it’s not my time just yet.
I pray to God my soul to take.
But just in case, take me to heaven and to one of those mansions big enough for family and friends.
If I should live for other days,
Not perfect, but good ones – I hope.
I pray the Lord to guide my ways.
You’re a much better GPS than me, help me to listen, see and follow your light.
Namaste. Shalom. Shantil. Amen
