Mother’s Day 2018
On this week’s episode of JustLove, Monsignor Kevin Sullivan will focus on Mother’s Day.
Prof. Elizabeth O’Donnell Gandolfo, who is the Edith and Arthur Earley Assistant Professor of Catholic and Latin American Studies at Wake Forest University’s School of Divinity will be calling into the studio. Given the fact that this weekend we are celebrating “Mother’s Day” on Sunday, May 13th, Msgr. Sullivan and Professor Gandolfo – who herself is mother of four young children – will be discussing the role and influence of mothering. They will specifically discuss the role of the Blessed Mother Mary – in Christian Theology, and how her own experience of mothering has influenced and informed her faith and work as a theologian.
Nayana Kelly, who is a recent graduate of the Administrative Professionals Program of Grace Institute – an affiliated agency of Catholic Charities New York will be in the studio. Nayana – who herself is a mother of two – will be sharing with Msgr. Sullivan how Grace Institute has assisted her with both social support and skills instruction. The Grace Institute empowers low-income women in the New York area to achieve employment and economic self-sufficiency by providing them with job skills, counseling, placement services and continuous learning opportunities.
