Empowering Women in Politics and Celebrating Black History Month on President’s Day Weekend

Monsignor Kevin Sullivan is joined by Debbie Walsh who is Director of the Center for American Women and Politics at the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers University. She talks about the women who have run for the presidency of the United States and what the center for American Women and Politics does to encourage women to get involved with and run for political office from the local to the national level. In addition, Charlene Gayle, who is Executive Director of the New York State Association of Black, Puerto Rican, Hispanic and Asian Legislators; discusses the work, history and significance of the historic association she leads, as well as the Annual Legislative Conference sponsored by the association taking place in Albany this weekend.
