Serving Gratitude: Thanksgiving Traditions and Advocacy
This Thanksgiving-themed episode features two inspiring segments. Mosignor Sullivan speaks with Pedro Mejia and Leo Jimenez from Catholic Charities’ Alianza Youth Services Division about their 35-year tradition of hosting a Thanksgiving Luncheon for 200 families at La Plaza Beacon School in Washington Heights. He then talks with Meghan Hurley, Policy and Advocacy Organizer at CATA – The Farmworker Support Committee, who shares insights into the lives and working conditions of the farmworkers who harvest the food we enjoy during the holiday season, along with ways we can support them. Join us for stories of service, gratitude, and advocacy this Thanksgiving!
