From Nature’s Wonders to National Remembrance
On today’s episode of JustLove, in honor of the 10th Anniversary of Pope Francis’ Encyclical Laudato Si’, Monsignor Kevin Sullivan speaks with Bill Jacobs and Kathleen “Kat” Hoenke, co-founders of the Saint Kateri Conservation Center and co-authors of the newly released children’s book from Pauline Books, “God Made That: Catholic Nature Field Guide.” Together, they discuss how the book introduces young readers to the wonders of creation while grounding them in the Church’s teachings on environmental stewardship.
Then, in observance of Memorial Day weekend, Monsignor Kevin Sullivan is joined by Dr. Joey Fink, Assistant Professor and Chair of the History Department at High Point University in North Carolina. Dr. Fink reflects on the origins of Memorial Day, dating back to the Civil War, and explores how its meaning has evolved into the present day.
