Paths to Peace and Beauty: Stories of Service and Sacred Art

This week on JustLove, Monsignor Kevin Sullivan highlights stories of peacemaking and artful devotion. In our first segment, he speaks with Tom Dobbins Jr. of Catholic Charities NY and Darnell Yates II, a junior at Cardinal Hayes High School, both honored by Pax Christi Metro New York for their powerful commitment to peacebuilding. They reflect on how faith and service have shaped their journeys and what peacemaking looks like today.

Then, as fair season begins, author and art historian Ruth D. Nelson joins in to discuss her new book, Our Lady of the World’s Fair, which tells the fascinating story of how Michelangelo’s Pietà traveled from the Vatican to Queens for the 1964 World’s Fair, a moment of beauty and faith shared across continents.
