Injustice Remembered, Injustice Confronted
On this week’s episode of JustLove, in recognition of the International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition (August 23rd), Monsignor Kevin Sullivan speaks with Jamie Manirakiza, Executive Director, and Cece Donoghue, Community Liaison and Volunteer Coordinator at the Partnership to End Human Trafficking, about their ongoing efforts to combat modern-day slavery. They discuss the realities of human trafficking today, the support their organization offers survivors, and how communities can take action to help abolish this global injustice. In the second half of the program, Monsignor Sullivan is joined by Michael La Civita, Director of Communications and Marketing for the Catholic Near East Welfare Association (CNEWA), for a sobering conversation about the current humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where famine and violence caused by ongoing armed conflict continue to devastate innocent lives.
