A Conversation on Faith, Pride, and Parish Inclusion

During this weekend when communities across the country commemorate the Stonewall uprising back in 1969 and LGBTQ Pride, Monsignor Kevin Sullivan, has a conversation with Catholic author John T. Kyler about how we might go about welcoming our LGBTQ brothers and sisters into parish life, drawing from his books Welcoming All to Christ: Reimagining Parish Hospitality and Search Me: A Way of the Cross in Solidarity with the LGBTQ Community. In the second segment, as we approach picnic season, on today’s episode Monsignor Sullivan speaks with Noel Gamboa and Pastor Joe Mantovani about the vision and development of Little Manila Park in Woodside, Queens, to honor those who were essential healthcare workers during the COVID Pandemic. They talk about what inspired the project, the challenges along the way, and the role of faith and community in bringing it to life. Furthermore, they reflect on the park’s impact on the neighborhood, upcoming community events, and how this effort can serve as a model for building stronger, more connected communities.
