Working Women, the 9 to 5 Movement & the Woman Mary Was

On today’s episode of Just Love, Monsignor Kevin Sullivan speaks with Ellen Cassedy who is one of the founders of the 9 to 5 Movement of working women that began in Boston 50 years ago. The organization that inspired the film “9 to 5” and the Dolly Parton’s song in the aftermath of Dolly Parton’s passing, on this Labor Day weekend, and they talk about how this movement of working women got started, how the situation for women office workers has evolved and what remains to be done.  

Next, Monsignor Sullivan talks with Prof. Julia Feder, Ph.D. who is the acting director of the Center for the Study of Spirituality and Associate Professor of Religious Studies and Theology at Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana. They discuss what scripture and tradition tells us about the kind of woman Mary was as told in the gospels.
