Catholic Relief Services’ Rice Bowl Help Families around the World and Working towards Turning the Tide on Homelessness in New York City

On this week’s episode of Just Love, Monsignor Kevin Sullivan talks about Catholic Relief Service’s Lent effort: Rice Bowl. He also looks into the homelessness issue in New York.

Rachel Malinowski is a Specialist in Instructional Design and Training at Catholic Relief Services. During this First Week of Lent, Rachel talks to us a bit about CRS’s Rice Bowl, the Lenten Program of Catholic Relief Services, and how it encourages and gives opportunities to Catholic families to participate in the traditional Lenten practices of prayer and almsgiving to support our brothers and sisters in concrete ways in the developing world whose communities are assisted by CRS.

Commissioner Steven Banks is the Commissioner and the New York City’s Human Resources Administration/Department of Social Services. Commissioner Banks, whose Agency tasked with providing assistance for those who are without housing within the City of New York, talks to us about the progress that New York City has made in tackling homelessness under its Turn the Tide on Homelessness Plan.
