Paralympic Perspectives and Papal Journeys
This week on Just Love, with the Paralympic Games kicking off in Paris on August 28th, Monsignor Kevin Sullivan talks with Dr. P. David Howe, Ph.D., a former Canadian Paralympian and Professor of Medical Anthropology at Western University in Canada. They discuss the Paralympics, Howe’s personal experiences, and his research on enhancing sports and physical activity for marginalized populations. Additionally, as Pope Francis prepares for his 45th Apostolic Journey to Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste, and Singapore starting September 2nd, Monsignor Sullivan converses with Prof. Jonathan Tan, Archbishop Paul Hallinan Professor of Catholic Studies at Case Western Reserve University. They explore the Catholic Church’s presence in these countries and what Pope Francis might encounter during his visit.
