Is America Losing Its Moral Center?

On this week’s episode of JustLove, Monsignor Kevin Sullivan speaks with two guests on whether America is losing its moral center.

David Gibson who is Director at the Center on Religion and Culture at Fordham University will be speaking to Msgr. about his work there and a recent symposium the Center sponsored, titled: “An Imperfect Union: Has America Lost its Moral Center.”  The symposium, which given the example of major public figures ignoring the norms of moral behavior recently – asked questions about our national identity, and how we might be able to recover the basic civil society norms and customs that have kept the United States going through difficult times in the past.

Suzanne Nossel who is Executive Director of PEN America will be on the show. PEN America is a non-governmental organization that works to advance First Amendment Rights and a free press, defend free expression and foster international literary fellowship. Suzanne and  Msgr. will be talking about the work of  PEN International, and discussing some media literacy strategies that social media and news consumers can use to ensure that the news they are reading is accurately reported, and not “fake news.”
