Taxes and National Volunteers Week

Prof. Robert G. Kennedy, Ph.D., a Professor of Catholic Studies at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, talks to Msgr. Sullivan about the topic of “Justice in Taxation” which is the topic of a soon to be published book Prof. Kennedy completed for the Acton Institute.

Linda Eddy, the Dutchess County Coordinator for the Hudson Valley CA$H Coalition (“Creating Assets, Savings and Hope”), talks to Msgr. Sullivan about the work of the Hudson Valley CA$H Coalition in providing free volunteer federal and state tax preparation for low to moderate income working families and individuals in an effort to helping them save money and improve their financial stability.

Jeff Zearfos is the owner of the social enterprise Common Cause Catering located in Colorado Springs, Colorado and was named 2018 Catholic Charities USA Volunteer of the Year for the volunteer work that he has done for the past 13 years as the lead cook for the Marian House Soup Kitchen of Catholic Charities of Central Colorado. During this rrun-upto National Volunteer’s Week (April 15th through 21st ), Msgr. Sullivan talks with Jeff about his receipt of CCUSA’s highest national volunteer honor for 2018, as well as the volunteer work that he does for Catholic Charities of Central Colorado that inspired the award.
