Providing Food to New Yorkers During the Pandemic, and the work of “Helping Hands” Ministry

On this week’s Episode of JustLove, we will be having a Conversation with Two Catholic Charities Food Hub Workers at the Catholic Charities Bronx Center about their Experiences Helping Catholic Charities Feeding Our Neighbors Program provide Food to Fellow New Yorkers throughout the Pandemic at Catholic Charities Pop Up Food Pantries, and a Discussion with a Capuchin Franciscan Friar and Director of the “Helping Hands Ministry” at Immaculate Conception Parish in the Williamsbridge Area of the Bronx about the People helped at the Parish through the “Helping Hands” Ministry there.

Rodney Hunt is a driver for Catholic Charities Community Services. This week, Rodney Hunt shares with us a bit about the experiences that he had in assisting at numerous pop-Up food pantries that were sponsored by Catholic Charities throughout the pandemic, which provided food to those in need throughout Manhattan, the Bronx, Staten Island, Yonkers, Westchester, and the Lower Hudson Valley.

Christopher Blackmon is a pantry aide at Catholic Charities Bronx Center. This week, Christopher Blackmon shares with us a bit about the experiences that he had in assisting at numerous pop-up food pantries that were sponsored by Catholic Charities throughout the Pandemic, which provided food to those in need throughout Manhattan, the Bronx, Staten Island, Yonkers, Westchester, and the Lower Hudson Valley.

Father Meena Gude, OFM Cap. is a Capuchin Franciscan Friar at Immaculate Conception Parish in the Williamsbridge area of the Bronx, and the Director of the “Helping Hands” Ministry in that parish. In today’s recording, Father Meena, who was born in the Indian State of Andhra Pradesh, shares with us a bit about the work of the “Helping Hands” Ministry, and how that ministry helps the parish of Immaculate Conception to follow in the footsteps of Saint Francis of Assisi through loving service to our brothers and sisters in need.
