From Injustice to Insight: Stories of Redemption and Faith in America

On today’s episode of JustLove, Monsignor Kevin Sullivan speaks with two extraordinary guests. First, we hear the powerful story of Judy Henderson, who spent over three decades in the Missouri prison system serving a life sentence without parole for a crime she did not commit. Her sentence was commuted in 2017 by the Governor of Missouri, and she shares her journey from wrongful conviction to freedom and redemption in her newly released memoir, When the Light Finds Us. Judy, who now works as an Administrative Assistant at Catholic Charities of Kansas City – Saint Joseph, joins the show to reflect on her experience. Later in the program, Monsignor Sullivan is joined by Dr. Gregory Smith, Senior Associate Director of Research at the PEW Research Center, to discuss PEW’s recently released Religious Landscape Study. The study reveals that the long-observed decline of Christianity in the United States has slowed and may have leveled off, offering new insights into the evolving religious identity of Americans today.
