Faith in Unlikely Places: Holy Land Education and God in Gaming

On this Palm Sunday weekend episode of JustLove, Monsignor Kevin Sullivan speaks with two unique guests whose work bridges faith, education, and technology. In the first segment, Brother Jack Curran, FSC, Ph.D., Vice President of Advancement at Bethlehem University in the Holy Land—the first Catholic university in the region—joins the program to discuss how the ongoing crisis in Gaza and the West Bank is affecting students at the university. He also shares how listeners can support these students during Holy Week. In the second segment, Monsignor Sullivan is joined by Brian Handy, a game designer and programmer based in Los Angeles. A cradle Catholic from a family of theologians, nuns, and Jesuit priests, Brian offers his perspective on how interactive entertainment and digital technology can either hinder or enhance faith, exploring the unique ways that video games might bring players closer to God.
