We All Need Help

Think about the loneliest, most isolated person you know.  Text, email or call that person today and check up on him/her.

Matthew 7:7-12

Do to others whatever you would have them do to you.
This is the law and the prophets.

It’s so obvious, and yet sometimes it’s so hard to want for others what we want for ourselves. My favorite example is this. On a freeway, somebody goes speeding past us and down the road. The person gets pulled over. How many times have we thought or said: “Good. He deserved it.”  Ah, but what about the time we were in a hurry and got pulled over?  Didn’t I plead for mercy form the police officer?  I know I did.   There are so many other examples.  You can come up with your own, but the gospel’s advice still holds – in whatever every situation, think about how you would like to be treated and act accordingly.  It’s 100% true and it gets us most of the way there.
