The Midterm Elections and GiGi’s Playhouse NYC

On this week’s episode of JustLove, Monsignor Kevin Sullivan talks about the upcoming midterm elections, as well as the work of GiGi’s Playhouse NYC.

Senator Nicholas Spano is a former New York State Senator and Assembly-member is currently the President of Empire Strategic Planning, a professional, non-partisan, full service consulting firm specializing in government advocacy, public affairs, and business development. Senator Spano spent almost 30 years in New York State government representing the people of Yonkers, New York. He talks to Monsignor Sullivan about his experience in government and any insights and predictions he might have for the upcoming midterm elections taking place on this upcoming Election Day: Tuesday, November 6, 2018.

Frank Sawyer is the Co-Founder and Principal of TeleGraphicMedia and the President of the Board of Directors of GiGi’s Playhouse New York City, a Down Syndrome Achievement Center headquartered in Harlem, New York that is dedicated to assisting individuals with Down Syndrome and their families in gaining social support and friendship, as well as the social and academic skills they need in order to reach their potential and make a contribution to the broader New York City community. In honor of Down Syndrom Month, Frank talks to Monsignor about some of the innovative programs at GiGi’s Playhouse NYC, including its recent First Annual Fashion Show at Bloomingdales held at the retail giant’s flagship store in New York. Last Wednesday evening, 30 individuals with Down Syndrome of all ages, including Frank’s own Brother-in-Law Peter, walked the runway dressed head to toe in apparel by some of the fashion industry’s top designers before a crowd of 200.
