Lima James, MSW. is the Education and Development Manager of LifeWays Network, an anti-trafficking organization located here in the New York area dedicated to both providing victims of human trafficking with safe housing and other services that they need to help them recover from trauma, regain self-worth and independence. During this week when we commemorate the World Day Against Human Trafficking in Persons on July 30th, Lima shares some facts about human trafficking, what LifeWays Network is doing to assist victims, and what listeners can do to help end the scourge of this modern-day form of slavery.
Dr. Mary Hirschfeld, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Economics and Theology at the Villanova University in Pennsylvania. Dr. Hirschfeld holds a Ph.D. in both Economics and Moral Theology shares how accurate she feels the current debate on these terms has been, and what sort of values and principles – in her view – Catholics should bring to this debate.
