Discussing the Iowa Caucus and the Question of Football becoming a New Religion in America

Prof. Timothy Hagle, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Iowa. Given that the Iowa Caucuses will be taking place on this Monday, February 3rd, Prof. Hagle shares with us all about the Iowa Caucuses: what they are, how they work, why they are important, and even what we might expect next week when Iowans go to their Polling Places on Monday.

Tanya Jones, M.S. is a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Texas where she is studying Physical Culture and Sports Studies. To celebrate Superbowl Weekend, Tanya talks about an article she wrote for the on-line magazine Sport in American History titled: “Football is the New American Religion” and why she feels that Football itself has taken on a nearly religious significance in the lives of many Football fans.
