Esmeralda talks to us about the work that she and her office do with Day Laborers, men and women who work in the informal economy whose means of support has been decimated by the social distancing strictures and industry closures that have been put in place to fight the spread of the COVID-19 infection. Vanessa Figaro-Rock is the Chief Operating Officer for Programs at Good Counsel Homes, maternity residences for homeless women and their children across the New York metropolitan area that is an Affiliated Agency of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York.
