The Work of Catholic Relief Services in Haiti and World Day of Grandparents and the Elderly

In this week’s episode of Just Love, Monsignor Kevin Sullivan talks about the work of Catholic Relief Services in Haiti and its response to the emergency needs of the people of southern Haiti in the aftermath of the earthquake that struck the island on Saturday, August 14th. The second guest on that show talks about the importance of grandparents to our families and society in consideration of the Church’s first “World Day of Grandparents and the Elderly,” which was celebrated on Sunday, July 25th.

Beth Carroll is the Head of Programs in Haiti for Catholic Relief Services. A 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck the Caribbean nation killing 1,900 people and injuring over 7,000. In today’s recording, Beth Carroll talks to us about what Catholic Relief Services is doing to respond to the emergency needs of the people of southern Haiti in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake, as well as CRS’s ongoing efforts to support development in the country.
