The Role of Baseball in the Labor and Civil Rights Movements
On today’s edition of JustLove, we begin with the sobering topic of human trafficking. We talk with Tony Talbott of the University of Dayton about the nature of the illicit business and what can be done to disrupt and confront its perpetrators and the demand for it. We are then joined by Professor Peter Dreier, Ph.D., of Occidental College in Los Angeles about the history of Baseball, specifically its role as a setting in which the Labor and Civil Rights movements found cultural impact in the 20th century.
Tony Talbott is the Director of Advocacy at the Human Rights Center, and is Co-Founder and Director of Abolition Ohio; he is centered at the University of Dayton.
Professor Peter Dreier, Ph.D., is the Dr. E.P. Clapp Distinguished Professor of Politics at Occidental College of Los Angeles.
