The Fallout of The Atomic Bomb Development on Both Residents of Japan as well as New Mexico

This week on Justlove, in light of the subject of the recently released movie Oppenheimer, Directed by Christopher Nolan, we bring you two stories that rise from the fallout of the Trinity tests and the subsequent use of the bomb itself. Tina Cordova of New Mexico is the co-founder of the Tularosa Basin Downwinders Consortium, which advocates for those who live in the vicinity of the test site and who have suffered generational, medical harm from the radiation. We are also joined by Dr. Andrea Bartoli, Ph.D., who is the President of the Sant’Egidio Foundation for Peace and Dialogue about a vigil for peace taking place on August 5th through 8th at the Chapel of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary in New York City, comemborating the dropping of the two bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
