Back Stage Look at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and Learning More about the California Wildfires

On this week’s show of Just Love, Monsignor Kevin Sullivan talks about what goes into organizing the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and he also talks about the aftermath of the California wildfires.

Rick Pomer is the Creative Director of Branded Entertainment for Macy’s in New York City and is the Creative Director for the Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. This year will be the 93rd Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and will take place on Thanksgiving Day – Thursday, November 28th starting at 9:00 a.m. Included in this year’s line-up are Emmy-Award Winning Pose Actor Billy Porter, Latin Singer Ozuna, and Grammy-winning performers the Black-eyed Pease, TLC, Chicago, and Kelly Rowland, as well as Ciara, Idina Menzel, Lea Michele, Debbie Gibson, Miss America 2019 Nia Franklin and former NASA Astronauts Kay Hire and Janet Kavandi.

Daniel Grimm, J.D., MA, MFT is the Regional Director Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles for the Santa Barbara Pastoral Region. There have been at least one dozen wildfires active in California over the past month, many stoked by the ferocious winds that buffeted the California coast over the past month. The biggest, the Kincade Fire, incinerated parts of the Wine Country in Sonoma County, and together, the fires have burned through 100,000 acres. Daniel discusses the help that Catholic Charities provides during the aftermath of the wildfires, especially for the poor who are affected by the fires.
